兵庫県加古川市で進行中のプロジェクトで、木造躯体が建ち上がりました。
できるだけプレカットで製作できるよう、線材の木梁を交点で少しずつ角度をつけながら接合し、おおらかなR形状のヴォールト屋根を実現しています。さらに一部に鉄骨梁を併用することで、柱の少ない伸びやかな空間としています。
構造躯体の完了検査に伺った際、棟札を納めました。こうした伝統的な作法は、やはり気が引き締まって良いものですね。_
We’ve reached a milestone on our project in Kakogawa, Hyogo: the timber structure is now up.
To keep as much of the fabrication as possible suited to pre-cutting, we joined straight timber beams at their intersections, angling each one slightly, to form a gently curved barrel-vault roof. In part of the structure we also introduced steel beams, opening up a generous space with few columns.
When we visited for the structural inspection, we placed the munafuda — the traditional ridge plaque. There’s something about these old customs that focuses the mind. A good feeling.
