出雲

出雲にある酒蔵の改修に関わることになり、現地調査へ。まずは、地域の象徴でもある出雲大社を訪れた。当時ここにあったと言い伝えられる、高さ48Mもの本殿に思いを馳せる。

I was invited to be involved in the renovation of a Sake brewery in Izumo, so I went on a field survey. First, we visited Izumo-taisha Shrine, a symbol of this region. I thought about the 48-meter high main shrine, which is said to have stood here at that time.

草枕の地

突然ご連絡をいただき、訪れた熊本県玉名市天水。そこで目にした、以前は当たり前にあったはずの『日本の原風景』とも言えるべき、そこで暮らす人びとの日常。

I visited Tensui, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture, after receiving a sudden call. I found an ordinary life of the people living there, which used to be commonplace and could be called the "original scene of Japan".
