今朝はうきはの現場へ。
お施主さま、施工のイクスワークスさん、原田左研／原田進さんと、左官仕上げ部分の打合せを行いました。原田さんが集めてきてくれた差し石を一つひとつ現場に当てながら、石のサイズ感や土間の高さ、壁の出入りの関係を確認。
このプロジェクトでは、「素朴さ」についてよく話しています。ただ、それは単に「ありのまま」「自然のまま」ということではありません。
手を入れ続けることで保たれていく庭や石垣の景観のような、一見変わらないようでいて、実はそのようにして支えられている有様のことを指しているように思います。

This morning, we headed to the site in Ukiha.
We had a meeting about the plaster finishes with the client, builder Exworks and Susumu Harada of Harada Saken.
Placing each stone Mr. Harada had gathered against the site one by one, we checked the size of the stones, the floor levels, and how the walls step in and out.
In this project, we often talk about ”
simplicity/sustained presence”
But for us, it doesn’t simply mean “as is” or “left natural.“It’s more like the landscape of a garden or a stone wall that appears unchanged, yet is carefully maintained through ongoing care and attention.
